We want the E.T.I. Bulletin Board to be a safe, enjoyable and educational place for all people to come and join in the debate about the existence of extraterrestrial intelligence.
Therefore, by registering an account on the E.T.I. Bulletin Board, you agree to abide by the following rules when posting messages on the board:
- Keep it polite. Rude, abusive, or intimidating language or behavior will not be tolerated on this board.
- No swearing or explicit language, and that includes all variants designed to cheat any language filters the board may choose to employ. Suggestive or rude vulgar names and ids are also not permitted.
- No spam or unpaid advertising of any kind allowed.
- Only one user name will be allowed per user, unless they are an administrator or moderator who will be limited to two user names--one for moderation activities and one for posting. Users who are suspended or banned for any reason are not allowed to create new user names.
- Users must be at least 12 years old to participate on this message board.
- Do not violate the copyright or other intellectual property rights of any person or company. Specifically, do not post complete articles in your messages. At most, quote a paragraph from the original article and provide a link to the full article on the original web site.
- Absolutely no trolling allowed.
- No SHOUTING (typing words or whole messages in capital letters).
- Do not mock anyone's sincerely held beliefs, political, religious or otherwise. You may, of course, explain why you think they are wrong, but don't make it personal.
- Preaching and proselytizing is strictly forbidden.
- Do not solicit the personal information of other users from third parties using public or private communications on this board.
- All discussions on this board are the property of the owners of the ETIBB bulletin board. By participating you have granted the owners of the ETIBB bulletin board the license to use them for any purpose related to the operation of this board.
- Private messages should not be considered the private property of the sender or recipient of the messages. If your account is deleted or disabled you will not longer have access to your private messages.
- Do not create new topics excessively and before you create a new topic, check to make sure there isn't already an active topic on the subject you want to discuss.
- Please heed instructions from the board moderators. If you ignore those instructions, you may be suspended or banned from the board.
- The only place you are allowed to discuss alien-related conspiracy theories is the Conspiracy Theories sub-section in the E.T.I. Fantasies section of the board. If you create topics on this subject anywhere else they will either be moved or deleted. This includes UFO sightings, alien abductions, government cover-ups, secret alien technology, and so on.
- The only place you are allowed to discuss fringe, alternative theories of physics, astronomy, biology, or any other branch of science is in the Outside the Mainstream subsection of the E.T.I. Fantasies section of the board. If you create topics on this subject anywhere else they will either be moved or deleted. This includes creationism of any kind (including intelligent design), plasma theory, electric universe, hyperdimensional physics, and similar theories.
- As owners of the board, we reserve the right to:
- move topics from one section of the board to another
- edit any posts or discussions for any reason we see fit
- respond to violations of any of the above rules by removing posts and/or topics and, where necessary, suspending or banning users
- report any unlawful activity on this board to the appropriate authorities
